(hey whoever that thought i was crazy, i found a better crazy runner.) shuxian and i tried the wake up in the morning thing to run to meet up for breakfast kind of didnt quite work out.

an hour to appreciate them
a day to love them
but an entire lifetime to forget them.

Going back to the corner where I first saw you,
Gonna camp in my sleeping bag I'm not gonna move,
Got some words on cardboard got your picture in my hand,
Saying if you see this girl can you tell her where I am,
Some try to hand me money they don't understand,
I'm not...broke I'm just a broken hearted man,
I know it makes no sense, but what else can I do,
How can I move on when I'm still in love with you...
Cos if one day you wake up and find that you're missing me,
And your heart starts to wonder where on this earth I can be,
Thinking maybe you'll come back here to the place that we'd meet,
And you'd see me waiting for you on the corner of the street.
So I'm not moving...
I'm not moving.
Policeman says son you can't stay here,
I said there's someone I'm waiting for if it's a day, a month, a year,
Gotta stand my ground even if it rains or snows,
If she changes her mind this is the first place she will go.
I'm not moving...
I'm not moving.
People talk about the guy
Who's waiting on a girl...
Oohoohwoo
There are no holes in his shoes
But a big hole in his world...
Hmmmm
and maybe I'll get famous as man who can't be moved,
And maybe you won't mean to but you'll see me on the news,
And you'll come running to the corner...
Cos you'll know it's just for you
I'm the man who can't be moved
I'm the man who can't be moved...
Cos if one day you wake up and find that you're missing me,
And your heart starts to wonder where on this earth I can be,
Thinking maybe you'll come back here to the place that we'd meet,
And you'd see me waiting for you on the corner of the street.
[Repeat in background]
So I'm not moving...
I'm not moving.
I'm not moving...
I'm not moving.
Going back to the corner where I first saw you,
Gonna camp in my sleeping bag not I'm not gonna move.

if crying makes you happy, i'll lend you a shoulder.
if talking all day makes you happy, i'll be your listening ear.
if silence makes you happy, i'll stop singing my song.
if whacking me makes you happy, i'll start running away...
=] if it makes you happy, i'll just try my best to let things be.

The Paradoxical Commandments
People are unreasonable, illogical and self-centered.
Love them anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.
If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.
The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.
The biggest people with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest people with the smallest minds.
Think big anyway.
People favour underdogs but follow only top dogs.
Fight for the underdogs anyway.
What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.
People really need help, but may attack you if you help them.
Help people anyway.
Give the world the best you've got and you'll get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you've got anyway.
-written by Kent Keith in 1968 when he was 19, a sophomore at Harvard College.
I remember this was the first message I heard from Mrs Lee Bee Yan (if my memory does not fail me) when she spoke for the first time as SAJC's principal. I was wondering what she would say as she was now a principal of a Christian school. unlike crescent days where she was not free to share her faith. I cant quite remember the verse she shared but i remember clearly this part of her sharing.I guess it reminds you that you should hold your values strong and not be shaken by the reaction of people. Most of the time we are afraid of doing something either because we lack confidence in ourselves or because we lack the courage. I'm really envious of this guy btw. Such a wonderful mind. simple words but meaningful message.
anyway, i guess i remeber this sharing well because in sajc, they stand throughout assembly forces us to be awake to be alert and reflect on what is going on in the devotion. Unlike now, where we sit down and sometimes conveniently fall asleep once in a while.

PROMOS coming soon. kind of waiting for it anyway. i feel like some frontline soldier waiting to go for war. wondering once in the while if all my armour is on and counting down to the time when the enemies approach. =]... (sorry was being drama)
anyway, remembered something kc said during devotions. she said that according to some research, michael phelps swam 5000m every morning although his longest race is only 400. that means it is a ratio of 4 :50. meaning to say. if i want to be a michael phelps on land. i have to run a marathon every morning. since my longest race is 3.2 km. and that is crazy.
okay. just random.
what happens when my papa loves plants. he buys 3 pots of bamboo, wants to uprooted a bush to move it to one side, puts a palm tree in my room's balcony and my brother's room's balcony too and enjoys looking at the pink flowers that he bought... the palm is really pretty though. not that kind of fan palm... the pretty kind you see around the office buildings. that's my dad. =] i told my jie that her room has 10 potted plants and looks like a garden. (it isn't okay relax.)
matthew 7:12
"So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Laws and Prophets."
was researching today about the sms huiling received during the week. was wondering if it was true. i kind of think it is. so here's the NEWS. pray for paul thangaia in Banglore. RSS planned to kill him they burnt 20 churches yesterday night and plan to destroy 200 churches in orissa. BJP has planned to kill 200 hours in the next 24 h...
basically, paul thangaia is the pastor of the largest church if i'm not wrong. and RSS and BJP are some communities that are using protecting their religon rights as a reason to kill christians/ burn the house/ burn churches. they believe that churches have forced the indians of the lower caste aka the untouchables to convert to christianity. Some dude says that Indian is a hindu country and will remain as it is. then there's this video i saw. this pastor spoke so calmly if you didnt listen to words you wont realise that he is speaking about the things that are happening to the christians. but it is heartening to hear him say God is at work because God says these things will come. in such a situation, he still trust the Lord. it causes anti christian things that happen to be seem really trivial. (i think because it is). BASELINE: pray for our christian brothers and sisters in India. some are even forced to burn their bible. it is that real. there is just a really chaotic world out there and i guess in this country, we are better protected.
thank God for giving them strength.

An investment banker was at the pier of a small coastal village when a small boat with just one fisherman docked.
Inside the small boat were several large yellow fin tuna. The banker complimented the fisherman on the quality of his fish
and asked how long it took to catch them.
The fisherman replied, "Only a little while."
The banker then asked, "Why didn't you stay out longer and catch more fish?"
The fisherman said, "With this I have more than enough to support my family's needs."
The banker then asked, "But what do you do with the rest of your time?"
The fisherman said, "I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, go for walks with my wife, stroll into the village each
evening where I sip wine and play guitar with my friends. As you can see, I have a full and busy life."
The banker scoffed, "I am a Harvard MBA and could help you. You should spend more time fishing; and with the proceeds,
buy a bigger boat! With the proceeds from the bigger boat you could buy several boats. Eventually you would have a fleet of
fishing boats. Instead of selling your catch to a middleman you would sell directly to the processor, eventually opening your
own cannery. You would control the product, processing and distribution. You would need to leave this small coastal fishing
village and move to the capital city. After that, who knows, maybe you could take on the world!"
The fisherman asked, "But, how long will this all take?"
To which the banker replied, "I'd say about 15 to 20 years."
"But what then?" asked the fisherman.
The Banker laughed and said, "That's the best part! When the time is right, you would announce an IPO and sell your
company stock to the public and become very rich, you would make millions."
"Millions?...Then what?" the fisherman continued prodding.
The banker said, "Then you would retire. Move to a small coastal fishing village where you would sleep late, fish a little,
play with your kids, go for romantic walks with your wife, and in the evenings you could sip wine, play guitar and sing
songs with your friends!"
To which the fisherman mused, "Now isn't that strange? Isn't that what I'm doing now?"
Jon sent me this story long time ago. loved it. maybe Ongy's idea of being a farmer isnt so bad after all. =]
When I was just a little girl
I asked my mother, what will I be
Will I be pretty, will I be rich
Here's what she said to me.
Que Sera, Sera,
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours, to see
Que Sera, Sera
What will be, will be.
When I was young, I fell in love
I asked my sweetheart what lies ahead
Will we have rainbows, day after day
Here's what my sweetheart said.
Que Sera, Sera,
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours, to see
Que Sera, Sera
What will be, will be.
Now I have children of my own
They ask their mother, what will I be
Will I be handsome, will I be rich
I tell them tenderly.
Que Sera, Sera,
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours, to see
Que Sera, Sera
What will be, will be.
(que means that in spanish and portuegese and german)
was just thinking about my childhood days.then there's this land before time series i used to watch. Little Foot's grandpa once said, "When they are young, they want to grow up. And when they are up, they wish they were young again."
during my childhood days, my parents would sometimes ask hey little one what do you want to be when you grow up. (then tries to tell me that the best route is to be a doctor) igniting the idea of future in my mind. guess that made me start thinking about the future. many a times people advise you to have goals in life. but sometimes, i feel that goals make you forget to enjoy the present moment. i guess when you reach your goal, you bask in a moment of euphoria, but then again i guess we forget that to reach that goal, we miss out the many other moments that we could have had. is having that moment of euphoria really that important? someone once told me that she regretted not enjoying her university days because she decided to take advantage of her youth and study really hard(working through the night, putting lots of stress on oneself) and complete university as soon as possible. reason, to start working as soon as possible by completing her studies. thus the advice given to me was to enjoy my study life. another friend once said, why start working now when you will be working for your entire life. i guess the outcome is just as important as the process. there's this chinese saying for wushu, xue hao san tian, nian hao san nian. basically saying to learn an art it can take mere 3 days but to master it, it would take 3 years. the idea of ns is somehow good, i guess although it wastes 2years of your time but it might build you up in someway... but then again i'm not going into army not quite in the position to say... anyway, i guess sometimes we rush through life and miss out the finer details. i guess that's why God looks at the heart. things of the world are not fit to be a basis of judgement.
thank God for looking at the heart.

i just heard it today. MATH is the easiest.
feel like a car now. vroom vroom...
allan was saying he runs 80km a week. that's nuts.
"you run 10 km in the morning and then 10km at night."
"ALLAN" *eyes open wide...
if i had your brains or your discipline maybe i would go run 80km.
feel like going back to wushu. hmph. really wanna go back to wushu...
the last time i tried to practise wushu when i'm not in wushu class, my friend asked me why i was doing self entertainment. =(. APRIL when are we ever gonna go back??
it's just so sad right. it's like in life you just pick things up. and when your hands are full you just have to put down some. sadly. first my pretty violin, then my 4weapons and nano+carbon. do hope to pick them up again. we just get busier, dont we.
if time would stop for me.

when i was a kid, i used to wonder if i was meeting the same piano teacher week after week. that was after reading a book that told me jumping into the same river twice was impossible. my piano teacher would be mad at me for not practising my piano for a week and the next, she would 'condone' me not practising. i even once came to the conclusion she had 3 sisters who look exactly like her and they took turns to teach me each week. using my little ways, i tried to figure out exactly how many piano teachers i had. all of these were due to my teachers moodswings i guess. it's like if she had a great day where all her students before played fantastically, she wouldnt mind a little child fumbling over the notes in comparison to a day where all her other students didnt perform well. it's ironic that a little girl cant understand a woman. i guess moodswings brings a variety to a person.
btw it's teachers' day soon. happy teachers' day to my multiple teachers.
thank God for teachers.

it comes once in a lifetime
within the first 10 years of your life.
it stays a while.
hangs around till you're 25.
then it's gone for good...
thinking about random stuff.
"Remember your Creator in the days of your youth..." Eccl 12:1.
the thing i loved about sajc were the verses all over the place.
this was one of them. just a verse reminding us to remember God though we are young.
...so get a friend jump around have some fun but forget not the God who created you.
thank God for youth. =]

Quiet my soul remember
Redemptions hill
Where Your blood was spilled
For my ransom
Everything I once held dear
I count it all as lost
Lead me to the cross
Where Your love poured out
Bring me to my knees
Lord I lay me down
Rid me of myself
I belong to You
Lead me, lead me to the cross
You were as I
Tempted and tried
Human
The word became flesh
Bore my sin and death
Now you're risen
Everything I once held dear
I count it all as lost
Lead me to the cross
Where Your love poured out
Bring me to my knees
Lord I lay me down
Rid me of myself
I belong to You
Lead me, lead me to the cross
To your heart
To your heart
Lead me to your heart
Lead me to the cross by Hillsong United.
Stumbled upon this beautiful song. Somehow sounds richer than Chopin's Etude in Emajor. Maybe because of the meaningful lyrics. =] really like this song.
Anyway, i'm doing stupid things nowadays. was running for the fun of it. irritating shuxian with my melodious off key singing. making xianny laugh because i was learning how to do funny moves. poking xueyuan for no reason. doing push up, sit up / crunches because i feel like doing it. whacking huiling's hair just to see it oscillate. randomly using physics explanations to explain the wrong things. playing nonsense on my piano. writing random lyrics. okay. shant talk about the dumb things i do these days.
i kind of miss running like mad now that it is not season. All Paulus' fault that we didnt run on friday... well... then again, maybe not all is his fault. we could have organised self trng. anyway, went to nicholas' house for dinner. me and dorothy watched the beijing's olympics opening ceremony march in till we fell asleep, and then waking up a little to see team singapore march in, quite a big team. or at least bigger than i expected. loved the flame part. really nice. was trying to find the olympic anthem but sadly, it was nowhere to be found. it sounded mystical somehow. would be cool to learn a greek song. =] anyway, found the olympic hymm. there's this cool web somewhere that has all the anthems of all the countries quite cool. =]
i want to play with my weapons. i still remember most of my taolu except 18mo. i want to play wushu. miss the days where my week is packed with all sorts of trainings. the best times were when i had 3 badminton trngs and 2 wushu trngs. just keep trng. wish to go for trng camp.i loved last year's crash training. every night meet ongy, eileen, cher cher, tyzus go running, then get scolded by coach for exhausting yourself before trng, then after trng is mad rush to subway. that was so cool. was just thinking about what ongy was telling me the other day about sports that sometimes trng takes out the fun in sports, similarly what pee said about not wanting to train basketball cause sth like he doesnt want his fav. game to be trng or sth. makes me wonder if trng is addictive. i think i'm addicted to it. knowing you'll feel pain, you still wanna train cause of the small period of runner's high or whatever high feeling it is. sounds like taking drugs... okay maybe wrong analogy. anyway, guess i'll miss this kind of training when i'm out of school.
i made the cross team play badminton, made the class play badminton. =] feel so happy. just that carbon and nano weren't there when i played with the class and we were playing in the open air. remember someone was from class was from badminton as well. feel like playing match with them. i think i was being mean to kerong and pee the last time cross played badminton. was smashing for the fun of it. makes me want to train again... guess i'll try to find time to go training.
jie, i updated... =]
thank God for my jie's guardian angels.

17-year-old Brian Moore had only a short time to write something for a class. The subject was what Heaven was like. 'I wowed 'em,' he later told his father, Bruce. 'It's a killer. It's the bomb. It's the best thing I ever wrote..' It also was the last.
Brian Moore died May 27, 1997, the day after Memorial Day. He was driving home from a friend's house when his car went off Bulen-Pierce Road in Pickaway County and struck a utility pole. He emerged from the wreck unharmed but stepped on a downed power line and was electrocuted.
The Moores framed a copy of Brian's essay and hung it among the family portraits in the living room. 'I think God used him to make a point. I think we were meant to find it and make something out of it,' Mrs. Moore said of the essay. She and her husband want to share their son's vision of life after death. 'I'm happy for Brian. I know he's in heaven. I know I'll see him.'
Brian's Essay: The Room...
In that place between wakefulness and dreams, I found myself in the room. There were no distinguishing features except for the one wall covered with small index card files. They were like the ones in libraries that list titles by author or subject in alphabetical order. But these files, which stretched from floor to ceiling and seemingly endless in either direction, had very different headings. As I drew near the wall of files, the first to catch my attention was one that read 'Girls I have liked.' I opened it and began flipping through the cards. I quickly shut it, shocked to realize that I recognized the names written on each one. And then without being told, I knew exactly where I was.
This lifeless room with its small files was a crude catalog system for my life. Here were written the actions of my every moment, big and small, in a detail my memory couldn't match. A sense of wonder and curiosity, coupled with horror, stirred within me as I began randomly opening files and exploring their content. Some brought joy and sweet memories; others a sense of shame and regret so intense that I would look over my shoulder to see if anyone was watching.
A file named 'Friends' was next to one marked 'Friends I have betrayed.' The titles ranged from the mundane to the outright weird 'Books I Have Read,' 'Lies I Have Told,' 'Comfort I have Given,' 'Jokes I Have Laughed at .' Some were almost hilarious in their exactness: 'Things I've yelled at my brothers.' Others I couldn't laugh at: 'Things I Have Done in My Anger', 'Things I Have Muttered Under My Breath at My Parents.' I never ceased to be surprised by the contents.
Often there were many more cards than I expected. Sometimes fewer than I hoped. I was overwhelmed by the sheer volume of the life I had lived. Could it be possible that I had the time in my years to fill each of these thousands or even millions of cards? But each card confirmed this truth. Each was written in my own handwriting. Each signed with my signature.
When I pulled out the file marked 'TV Shows I have watched', I realized the files grew to contain their contents. The cards were packed tightly, and yet after two or three yards, I hadn't found the end of the file. I shut it, shamed, not so much by the quality of shows but more by the vast time I knew that file represented.
When I came to a file marked 'Lustful Thoughts,' I felt a chill run through my body. I pulled the file out only an inch, not willing to test its size and drew out a card. I shuddered at its detailed content.
I felt sick to think that such a moment had been recorded. An almost animal rage broke on me. One thought dominated my mind: No one must ever see these cards! No one must ever see this room! I have to destroy them!' In insane frenzy I yanked the file out. Its size didn't matter now. I had to empty it and burn the cards. But as I took it at one end and began pounding it on the floor, I could not dislodge a single card. I became desperate and pulled out a card, only to find it as strong as steel when I tried to tear it.
Defeated and utterly helpless, I returned the file to its slot. Leaning my forehead against the wall, I let out a long, self-pitying sigh.
And then I saw it.. The title bore 'People I Have Shared the Gospel With.' The handle was brighter than those around it,seemed newer, almost unused. I pulled on its handle and a small box not more than three inches long fell into my hands. I could count the cards it contained on one hand.
And then the tears came. I began to weep. Sobs so deep that they hurt. They started in my stomach and shook through me. I fell on my knees and cried. I cried out of shame, from the overwhelming shame of it all. The rows of file shelves swirled in my tear-filled eyes. No one must ever, ever know of this room. I must lock it up and hide the key. But then as I pushed away the tears, I saw Him.
No, please not Him. Not here. Oh, anyone but Jesus. I watched helplessly as He began to open the files and read the cards. I couldn't bear to watch His response. And in the moments I could bring myself to look at His face, I saw a sorrow deeper than my own.
He seemed to intuitively go to the worst boxes. Why did He have to read every one? Finally He turned and looked at me from across the room. He looked at me with pity in His eyes. But this was a pity that didn't anger me. I dropped my head, covered my face with my hands and began to cry again. He walked over and put His arm around me. He could have said so many things. But He didn't say a word. He just cried with me.
Then He got up and walked back to the wall of files. Starting at one end of the room, He took out a file and, one by one, began to sign His name over mine on each card. 'No!' I shouted rushing to Him. All I could find to say was 'No, no,' as I pulled the card from Him. His name shouldn't be on these cards. But there it was, written in red so rich, so dark, so alive. The name of Jesus covered mine. It was written with His blood. He gently took the card back. He smiled a sad smile and began to sign the cards. I don't think I'll ever understand how He did it so quickly, but the next instant it seemed I heard Him close the last file and walk back to my side.
He placed His hand on my shoulder and said, 'It is finished.' I stood up, and He led me out of the room. There was no lock on its door. There were still cards to be written.
'I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.'-Phil. 4:13 'For God so loved the world that He gave His only son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.' If you feel the same way forward it so the love of Jesus will touch their lives also My 'People I shared the gospel with' file just got bigger, how about yours?
that's an email i received. It kept playing in my mind. Keeps making me think about Heaven. Keeps causing me to ponder on how much God loves us. Keeps telling me to live life the way GOd wants it to be. Keeps reminding me of the day where we meet God. Keeps me wondering what my records would be. this story set me thinking about what i'm doing with my life. i once heard a saying that goes do not be afraid that life would end, rather be afraid it never starts. =]
thank God for this email

this song has been coming into my head...
TILL I SEE YOU
(Verse 1)
The greatest love that
Anyone could ever know
That overcame the cross
And grave to find my soul
And 'til I see You face to face
And grace amazing takes me home
I'll trust in You
(Verse 2)
With all I am I live
To see Your Kingdom come
And in my heart I pray
You'd let Your will be done
And 'til I see You face to face
And grace amazing takes me home
I'll trust in You
(Chorus)
I will live to love You
I will live to bring You praise
I will live a child in awe of You
(Verse 3)
You are the voice
That called the universe to be
You are the whisper in my
Heart that speaks to me
And 'til I see You face to face
And grace amazing takes me home
I'll trust in You
(BRIDGE)
You alone are God of all
You alone are worthy Lord

just ran a race today -- mizuno wave run.approx 54min. previously around 5th july ran milk run.approx 47min for 9.4km that was somehow better. i dont like afternoon races actually would run faster to get out of the sun i guess. i'm becoming a little too tanned...
i finally installed MSN on my 'new' com. i've got a new hard disk and a new 1gb ram. =] really happy. my com's working lots better now.
